Welcome!
Paynes Creek Historic State Park is located in Hardee County,
approximately one-mile southeast of Bowling Green, Florida. The
park was acquired to preserve a segment of history between the
Second and Third Seminole Wars. Located at the juncture of the
Peace River and Payne Creek, numerous cultural and natural resources
are available to enrich your visit. You are invited to check out
each section of this page so that you can take full advantage
of the scheduled events and activities being offered.
Paynes Creek has miles of trails to enjoy the serenity. The
visitor center provides an insight to the Florida frontier life
of the 1850's and the picnic area with the modern playground equipment
makes for a nice get away with the kids. Have you ever thought
about working as a park ranger?
We are also trying to establish a series of folklife events for
the winter season. Contact the park to find out how we are progressing.

The park is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until sunset. After-hour
