Lake Talquin, a man-made lake, was formed in 1927 when the Jackson
Bluff Dam was constructed on the Ochlockonee River to produce
hydroelectric power.
The lake now offers outstanding recreational opportunities for
largemouth bass, shellcracker and speckled perch sport fishing,
nature walks, picnicking and boating. Boaters should take notice
because the lake is inundated with logs and stumps.
