Welcome to the Fort Clinch State Park Homepage. Warmer weather has brought a great many visitors to the park including colorful painted buntings, spring warblers, summer tanagers and spoonbills. While on the beach, watch for nesting shorebirds. We are also seeing a lot of school groups this time of year - particularly whiting and flounder. Our campgrounds are quite busy with human visitors so be sure to make your reservations well in advance. We are offering a number of special events throughout the Spring and Summer, as well as candlelight tours of Fort Clinch May through August. Fort Clinch State Park, one of the oldest parks in the Florida Park system, was acquired in September 1935. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was responsible for some of the initial development of the park. A steep ramp leads to the second story of the Fort and Living History reenactors talk about life as a soldier stationed at Fort Clinch.

Hours of Operation

Florida state parks are open from 8 a.m. until sundown 365 days a year.

Driving Directions

Take I-95 to the Fernandina Beach/Callahan exit (Milepost Exit 373 - Old Exit 129), and stay to the right. You will then be traveling east on A1A. (This road becomes 8th Street within the town limits of Fernandina.) Stay on this road, (A1A), for 16 miles until you come to the intersection of 8th Street and Atlantic Avenue. Turn right on Atlantic Avenue and go about two miles, Fort Clinch State Park will be on the left.

Park Fees

Admission Fee - $5.00 per vehicle (limit 8 people per vehicle).

Pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicles with a holder of an Annual Individual Entrance permit, members of organized groups – Admission Fee $1.00

Single Car Occupant - $3.00 Motorcycle Fee (one or two persons) - $3.00

Admission fee allows visitors admittance to the beaches, trails, pier, and picnic area.

Fort Admission Fee - $2.00 per person. Fee paid at the gift shop.

Late Fishing Fee - $5.00 per vehicle plus park admission fee. Late fishing passes must be purchased at the Ranger Station at least one hour before closing. These passes permit fishing after dark on the pier only. Candlelight Viewing and Candlelight Tour Fee - $3.00 per person.

Camping Fee - The Amelia River and Atlantic Beach campgrounds are $22.00 plus tax per night.

Primitive group camping is $4.00/person per night.
